Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

Moneris Field Technicians will be provided with a company vehicle to perform role duties.

As a Field Technician at Moneris, you'll bring technical expertise and a customer-focused approach to deliver an outstanding experience to our merchants. You'll oversee field operations and focus on installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing electronic devices at merchant sites in your assigned region. Location: You will be based in Victoria, British Columbia, and will work onsite at our merchant's location.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Team Lead, Field Operations.

What you’ll do
  • Troubleshoot problems related to several equipment and peripherals such as computers, printers, networks, cash registers and points-of-sale systems.
  • Analyze problems and make recommendations to causes and corrective actions and always ensure that our merchants are satisfied with the issue resolution.
  • Install computers, printers, cash registers and points-of-sale systems and upgrade software.
  • Develop and maintain great relationships with our merchants.
  • Maintain organization of tools, equipment, materials, the company vehicle and the workplace.
What you bring
  • Post-secondary education in electronics, information technology or a related technical field. Equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitute for a diploma.
  • Ability to test and solve technical problems
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small tools (hand and power)
  • Proactive approach to health and safety issues.
  • Ability to occasionally work in confined spaces (squatting and/or at arm's length).
  • Knowledge of computers, general networking concepts, Internet and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people and calmly handle all kinds of situations, from routine to emergency
  • Ability to adapt to variable schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays (schedules are always communicated in advance)
  • Valid provincial driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of network cabling, will be considered an asset.
