We have an exciting opportunity for an Exercise Therapist to join our growing team!

Location: Etobicoke/Mississauga and surrounding regions
Start date: Immediately
Schedule: Casual

In this role you will:
  • Travel to various sites in a day to provide coverage for staff for both planned and unplanned time off
  • Independently lead group exercise and falls prevention programs in a group setting (you are not working under the scope of a PT)
  • Implement exercise and education programs for seniors that focus on increasing mobility, pain relief, building strength, and improving balance
  • Provide a consistent approach to prevent falls, reduce injuries, improve awareness of safety within the participant’s daily activities, develop an understanding of risks, falls prevention strategies, post-fall injuries, as well as increase participants’ independence, cognition, mobility and quality of life
  • Prepare and maintain progress reports and basic metrics on participants and produces data as requested
  • Be responsible for classroom setup and ensuring participants are able to enter the program site
  • Attentively monitor residents while utilizing exercise equipment; promote and demonstrate safe use of all equipment as well as proper infection control practices for equipment
  • Support and participate in the development and implementation of programs and objectives
  • Accurately collect data for reporting
  • This position would also provide experience working as Rehabilitation Therapist under the supervision of an PT/OT to deliver 1-1 treatments that are focused on maximizing a client's functional abilities and provide strategies around activities of daily living, memory and cognitive functioning and perception.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or College Diploma in related fields
  • First Aid (CPR & AED) Certification
  • Must have a full drivers license, reliable car and willingness to travel between sites throughout the region
  • Experience with seniors & group programming is an asset
  • Bilingual Preferred
