Make an impact on our business by leveraging your skills as a Director of Software Engineering in building a team of technologists who will deliver Chase's critical Frontend Authorization platform part of Acquiring Platforms Rails Technology.

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross‑functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

Job responsibilities
  • Manage agile software delivery teams and partnering with the Product partners to drive technology delivery.
  • Owning complete end‑to‑end responsibility of delivery of technical solutions to business/product owners.
  • Assess and manage a strong pool of talent in order to build a diverse and inclusive team and culture within the organization.
  • Manage all aspects of technology delivery including planning and execution of monthly/ad‑hoc production releases.
  • Provide leadership and direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple areas.
  • Act as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross‑product collaborations.
  • Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams.
  • Champion the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Ensure 100% employee engagement and client satisfaction.
Required Skills
  • Experience in leading & ensuring production stability, scalability and security of large/critical platform knowledge in C/C++ programming, Unix.
  • Extensive Knowledge in payments domain.
  • Formal training or certification on Technology concepts and 15‑17 years applied experience.
  • In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization.
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale.
  • Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability.
  • Knowledge in SQL/Oracle/NoSQL Db or any other DBMS required.
  • Knowledge in payments lifecycle, Authorizations and Settlement.
  • Well versed with various Agile processes.
  • Well versed in User Story writing, Acceptance criteria creation.
  • Well versed in mapping Business documents to Technical User Stories.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skill and right attitude to collaborate with the global team.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
  • Solid interpersonal, negotiating, and marketing skills to work with users, senior management, and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem‑solving techniques in a highly complex environment using technology.
