OUR ROLE

We are in search of a highly skilled and inspirational culinary leader for the position of Executive Chef - Main Kitchen, responsible for driving the vision, culture and success of the main kitchen culinary team at the Dorian & Courtyard. This position will manage all aspects of the kitchen and kitchen associates, ensuring the quality preparation and presentation of all menu items and proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with company standards and sanitation/health regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of enthusiasm and collaboration, with a keen ability to build and maintain a team of top performers, ensuring the highest level of food creativity & quality.

Key accountabilities include:

Develop and create exciting new menus that showcase the vision of our restaurant, using local ingredients to craft an extraordinary culinary experience.

Maintain consistent quality of our offerings by testing products and refining delivery methods.

Monitor customer satisfaction, auditing food offerings, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

Provide exceptional instruction to cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of menu items.

Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining approved food cost and within budget.

Consistently provide the highest quality of service to our customers and staff alike, setting a shining example for our team.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the industry, reviewing professional publications, benchmarking best practices, and participating in community events.

YOUR STORY - We are seeking someone with the following:

A Red-Seal certified, seasoned professional chef with a flair for innovation possessing a minimum of two years’ experience leading a kitchen in an upscale hotel operation in a downtown city center.

Outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety.

Solid leadership skills, adept at training, coaching and motivating a team of culinary professionals, passionate about helping them develop technique and artistry.

Exceptional problem-solving skills, able to troubleshoot, resolve situations efficiently. The ability to shift priorities as needed, including handling customer or staff situations that may occur outside of typical work hours.

Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills who values teamwork and collaboration.

Able to combine strategic planning and day-to-day management.
