A prominent art gallery in Victoria is seeking an Events Coordinator to conceptualize and execute events that enhance community engagement. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various departments, utilizing strong project management skills and a passion for the arts. Responsibilities include event planning, grant writing, and budget administration. A flexible work environment, health benefits, and opportunities for professional growth await.
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm, 35 hours/week. Please note that this position will occasionally require work during evenings and weekends to support event schedules.
Salary: $31.07 per hour (Effective March 22, 2025) – Unionized Position, CUPE Local 410, Pay Grade 6
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (AGGV) stands as a beacon of culture and community, nestled just 20 minutes from downtown Victoria in a serene park-like setting. Established in 1951 and housed in both contemporary exhibition spaces and the historic 1889 Spencer mansion, AGGV is not only the largest public art gallery on Vancouver Island but also one of the most significant in Canada, boasting an impressive collection of over 20,000 pieces of visual and decorative arts. The Events Coordinator plays a pivotal role in conceptualizing and executing events that bolster our Learning and Engagement and Development programs. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with various departments and external partners to deliver compelling and impactful events to our audiences. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of creativity, excellent project management skills, and a genuine passion for the arts.
