Responsibilities
  • Manage environmental projects including site assessment, remediation, risk assessment and regulatory compliance monitoring.
  • Provide technical and professional leadership to multi‑disciplinary project teams including engineers, scientists and technologists.
  • Design remediation programs or risk management measures for impacted soil, groundwater and soil vapour at contaminated sites.
  • Liaise with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, subconsultants, and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of client relationships and business growth.
  • Contribute to client/revenue acquisition and internal team growth to deliver the business.
  • Contribute to business development activities including proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Business travel upon request.

Qualifications
  • A degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology or environmental science, preferably at the master’s level.
  • Licensed to practice as a professional engineer or geoscientist or eligible to be licensed within 6 months.
  • Experience with a range of client types preferred (e.g., federal government departments, private industrial clients, municipalities, first nations).
  • Proven project management experience.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Experience
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
  • Proficient in the completion of one or more of: groundwater resource evaluation, protection and management; phased site assessments; solid understanding of contaminant fate and transport in the subsurface and the development of conceptual site model.
  • Remedial options analysis and evaluation; remedial action plan development and/or design; preparation of detailed designs, cost estimates and tender packages for remediation projects.
  • Design and implementation of compliance monitoring plans.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing environmental projects.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully mentoring and developing more junior staff.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, codes and standards.
  • Strong report writing, communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
