POSITION: Maintenance Electrician 309A, 442A

BUSINESS UNIT: Sterling Road Factory

REPORTS TO: Controls and Electrical Engineering Team Leader

Nestlé Canada Confectionary has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Electrician to join the Maintenance team at our chocolate manufacturing plant, located in Toronto, Ontario. This is an 8 hr shift position and may involve shift rotation and weekend work depending on business needs.

You will have access to employee perks
  • $44.10/hr (2026 rate is $45.09) + shift premiums (night shift $0.90/hour and afternoon shift $0.75/hour) – wage increases May 1st of each year as per the collective agreement.
  • Overtime paid at time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays

A day in the life:
  • Follow all job-related guidelines and procedures for personal safety, food safety, environment and company security (including but not limited to lockout/tag out, use of P.P.E.’s, Hazard Analysis, chemical and product spills, recycling …) as required
  • Follow all acts, regulations and codes related to facilities, equipment, environment protection, and Occupational Health and Safety at all times
  • Follow all GMP Rules& Regulations and Quality Checks
  • Work according to ISO 14001 Environment and OHSAS 18001 Safety requirements.
  • Proactively execute the needs of a 24/7 operation while being able to respond to changing demands with short notice.
  • Ensure compliance with the Nestle Quality Management System (NQMS) and quality policy as defined by the 4 Cs.
  • Trouble-shoot, maintain and repair High-Speed PLC & VFD Controlled Processes and Packaging Equipment.
  • Use and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers, instrumentation, and PC to observe and repair machine function.
  • Maintain electrical Plant Utilities such as lighting and emergency lighting/generators.
  • Timely completion of Preventive Maintenance Routines and Work Orders.
  • Advise on problem resolution and the procurement of material and equipment for individual jobs.
  • Assist in project work, equipment modifications and new installations as required.
  • Keep equipment file documentation system current and updated.
  • Ensure EET Shop is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Ensure Departmental and Electrical Shop logbooks are kept current as per work performed.
  • Participate in relevant training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management
What will make you successful?
  • Certified Licensed Electrician with an Ontario Journeyman’s Electrical License (309A or422A).
  • Membership or eligibility for the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists is required.
  • Strong Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Code
  • Experience in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, is preferred.
  • Total Performance Management (TPM) knowledge.
  • Excellent working knowledge of electronics is required.
  • Ability to follow and apply company policies and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, with working knowledge of factory AMM system and SAP highly desired.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills and can deliver results through people.
  • Must exhibit accuracy, efficiency, effectiveness and initiative in the job
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a team environment
