Job summary

An Ontario educational institution is looking for a Flexible Base Support to assist teachers in the education of students with exceptionalities. The candidate will be responsible for providing non-sterile catheterization care when needed, supporting students of varying needs, and preparing classroom materials. The role requires a Secondary School Diploma and experience with students who have developmental disabilities. This is a permanent position offering 35 hours of work each week, dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students who have mental health needs.
• Familiarity with sign language or knowledge of braille.
• Ability to support students who present flight risk behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher in the Teaching Process through various student activities.
• Maintain class and student records by updating attendance and achievements.
• Provide physical assistance to students with disabilities as required.

Skills

Supporting students with technology

Experience with early years students

Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with Autism

Supporting students with developmental disabilities

First Aid and/or CPR training
