The City of Delta is looking for an Education Assistant who is passionate about history, culture, and learning to support public programs and events within our Cultural Services Division.

Working under the guidance of a supervisor, you’ll help bring exhibitions and educational programs to life through research, lesson planning, and hands‑on program delivery. This role includes working directly with the public, supporting community events, and helping create engaging learning experiences for visitors of all ages.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the development and delivery of educational programs, workshops, and events
  • Assist with research and evaluation of exhibitions and programs
  • Facilitate programs and provide friendly, front‑line customer service
  • Prepare materials and assist with set‑up and take‑down for programs and events
  • Support outreach, promotion, and collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Safely handle artifacts and program materials
What You Bring
  • An interest in museums, education, history, or cultural programming
  • Post‑secondary education (or current studies) in a related field such as museum studies, history, archaeology, education, or a social science
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfort working with the public in a dynamic, hands‑on environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Availability for daytime, evening, and weekend shifts
