Lifeblood is more than just a job or a career, it’s an opportunity to be part of something that matters. As an organisation, our purpose is simple: life giving donations, for life changing outcomes. Together, we want to help you build a fulfilling career with Lifeblood.

About the role

Step into a rewarding role that directly impacts life-changing donations. Working with our generous donors, enjoy a more predictable, people-focused environment, with less hospital pressure and the chance to be a key part of the community.

As a Registered Nurse, you will bring your customer-facing skills and passion to deliver an exceptional service, while working together to ensure Australia’s supply of blood products.

A day in the centre could see you:

  • Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
  • Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
  • Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Set up machines and collections equipment
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  • Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation

Our paid and flexible self-paced training program has a balance between on-the-job practice and online class schedules to ensure that you are well supported. Besides having a passion to deliver an exceptional donor experience, you’ll need to be able to:

  • Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
  • Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
  • Have completed a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold a current AHPRA registration
  • Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
Benefits and Wellbeing

We place our employees' well-being at the forefront and express gratitude and care for one another. As an Australian Workplace Equality Index recognised employer and one of Australia’s menopause-friendly organisations, we celebrate diversity and support all our people.

In addition to being a part of an organisation that is the heartbeat of the nation, you will have access to the following:

  • Minimum 5 weeks annual leave (up to 6 weeks)
  • Access to salary packaging with an option to package up to $15,900 for living expenses and $2,650 for meals and entertainment
  • 14 weeks paid parental leave - no waiting period for either parent
