Overview

Director of Operations at Crazy Ape Extreme Equipment leads all aspects of manufacturing and facility operations to deliver customized, high-quality products on time. This is a hands-on leadership role within a small team and shop environment, with daily engagement on the production floor. The role reports directly to the owners and collaborates with the Sales Manager to meet customer expectations and drive continuous improvement. Experience from metal fabrication, machinery manufacturing, or similar industries is preferred; textile experience is not required.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Operations to oversee all manufacturing and facility operations, ensuring that production processes deliver customized, high-quality products on time. This role will work closely with the Sales Manager to meet customer expectations, streamline workflows, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations across manufacturing and facility management, ensuring high-quality production that meets or exceeds industry standards, with responsibility for understanding financial statements and supporting cost-effective decision-making.
  • Collaboration with Sales: Work closely with the Sales Manager to align production schedules with customer needs, ensuring timely delivery of orders to high-profile clients.
  • Team Development: Lead, coach, and inspire a team of skilled professionals in the production and facility departments. Cultivate a culture of accountability, efficiency, and excellence.
  • Facility Management & Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of all manufacturing equipment and building systems. Troubleshoot machinery issues and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, streamlining operations, and enhancing productivity, while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Oversight: Manage the procurement of raw materials and inventory levels, ensuring seamless production without interruption. Foster and maintain relationships with key suppliers and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all operational processes adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements, creating a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.
Required
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in metal fabrication, machinery production, or other hands-on manufacturing environments
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage teams of 12-20 people, streamline processes, and improve productivity
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization
  • Technical aptitude with a strong understanding of equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement processes, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
  • Familiarity with CNC machine operations or similar manufacturing technologies
  • Experience with technology in the manufacturing sector, including software such as Fusion 360 for CAD design, Fulcrum for operational management, and Shopify for e-commerce integration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
