Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months previous experience working in food handling and/or health care food services environment.
• Able to lift items up to 23 kg and meet physical and mental demands of the job.
• Must complete satisfactory background checks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe preparation, serving, and distribution of nutritious meals.
• Serve meals to staff and visitors and perform cashier duties.
• Follow sanitation safety guidelines and government regulations.

Skills

Knowledge and understanding of all therapeutic and texture-modified diets

Knowledge and understanding of sanitary food handling

Demonstrated competency in cash management

Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population

Proficiency in both official languages

Good work and attendance record

Education

Minimum Grade 10 education

Completion of a Dietary Aide certificate

Current Food Handler Training certificate level 1
