Otter Co-op is hiring for a Part-Time Deli Associate at our Retail Centre in Langley, BC.

What you will do

• Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests
• Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses
• Prepare special orders and party trays
• Update displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to showcase new items and promotions
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including surfaces, equipment, floors, and trash removal
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and regulatory agencies
• Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Contribute to the team by upholding the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence

Who you are

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

• Experience working a deli counter or in food preparation
• Customer service or retail experience is a plus
• Ability to lift heavy items (25–50 lbs) and operate equipment such as slicers, scales, cash registers
• Excellent customer service, communication, and math skills
• Ability to follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation
• A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests and complaints
• Committed to a SAFE working environment
• Must be available 7 days a week to work a variety of shifts including weekends, afternoons, and evenings
• Based at the Langley Retail Centre, with occasional travel to other locations as needed
