The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Database Administrator who will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of SQL Server & Oracle here at Arc. This role is accountable to deliver assigned projects and BAU tasks defined in the project pipeline in a safe, efficient and reliable manner.

The Role

• Monitor SQL Server and Oracle databases across IT and OT environments
• Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle server software and related tools
• Evaluate MSSQL / Oracle features and MSSQL / Oracle related products
• Assist with establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
• Implement and maintain database security according to company policy and procedure
• Database tuning and performance monitoring
• Script database deployments and migrations for applications team
• Interface with MSSQL / Oracle vendors for technical support
• Ensure effective access to data and information assets whilst maintaining the requirements of security, privacy and confidentiality
• Participate in testing of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans to ensure that the business can continue to function in the event of exceptional scenarios
• Maintain contemporary knowledge of system architectures and information systems appropriate to the organisation

• Experience in supporting Oracle and SQL Server databases
• Ability to develop and enforce standards and best practices
• Strong documentation and communication skills required
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff and customers
• Experience is configuring high availability database environments
