Overview

Title: Cybersecurity Specialist
Location: Edmonton, hybrid, 2d/week onsite
Start date: As soon as possible
Duration: 12 months.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
Languages: English, mandatory

Description

You report to the Manager - Security Services on this team and work closely with several specialists. The hybrid work environment and inclusive culture foster collaboration, innovation and professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the infrastructure to ensure that updates, corrections and preventive measures are applied
  • Perform intrusion detection analyses and vulnerability assessments to ensure a proactive response to incidents
  • Participate in the management of security patches and the vulnerability management process
  • Produce reports on indicators related to information security and collaborate in technical audits
  • Support, maintain and update the security infrastructure in accordance with established service objectives
  • Participate in developing, updating and complying with security policies, standards and procedures
  • Contribute to it monitoring and knowledge of cybersecurity threats
Prerequisites
  • College or university diploma in computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in information technology or information security.
  • Knowledge of normative frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, COBIT, OWASP).
  • Proficiency in security technologies (SIEM, firewall, encryption, vulnerability management, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, Linux environments or scripts (PowerShell, Shell, etc.).
  • Knowledge of tools (Rapid7, CrowdStrike).
  • AWS certified.
