Term: 1 year, with up to two (2) optional one year extensions

Overview

We are seeking one or more highly skilled Cybersecurity Consultants to support a large?scale cybersecurity maturity initiative. This role will help shape the organization’s cybersecurity posture in a rapidly evolving environment.

The ideal candidate is a senior cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in architecture, governance, strategic planning, and risk management. They must be able to work across both technical and executive levels and translate risks into actionable, strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Security Governance & Oversight
  • Interpret, apply, and enforce information security policies and standards.
  • Deliver security awareness and education.
  • Evaluate new and emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
Risk & Incident Management
  • Conduct Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs) for business and technology initiatives.
  • Respond to security incidents and lead remediation guidance.
Architecture & Design
  • Provide security assessments and define security requirements for IT solutions and procurement activities.
  • Design and implement cybersecurity architecture across complex, distributed environments.
  • Develop long?term cybersecurity strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Advisory & Collaboration
  • Provide cybersecurity advisory services across multiple business units.
  • Collaborate with technical and executive stakeholders to ensure buy?in for security initiatives.
  • Prepare and present security roadmaps, strategic plans, and vision documents.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Experience in cybersecurity strategic planning and risk management.
  • Experience in solutions architecture, cybersecurity architecture, and/or IT design.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at the designated office location.
Additional Qualifications
Local or Sector Specific Knowledge (Heavily Weighted)

Experience working with similar organizations, public sector entities, or comparable complex environments.

Cybersecurity Strategy & Advisory (Heavily Weighted)

Experience delivering cybersecurity strategy, governance modeling, feasibility assessments, cost benefit analyses, and risk management recommendations.

Architecture Leadership (Heavily Weighted)

Experience serving as lead architect using formal IT methodologies and recognized security frameworks, with successfully implemented solutions.

Additional Experience Areas
  • Designing and implementing cybersecurity architecture in distributed enterprise environments.
  • Collaborating effectively across technical teams and senior leadership groups.
  • Preparing executive level cybersecurity briefings, roadmaps, and maturity strategies.
  • Applying industry security frameworks (ISO 27002:2022, NIST, etc.).
  • Supporting DevSecOps and security automation for enterprise delivery pipelines.
  • Planning and implementing zero trust models.
  • Applying recognized IT design methodologies.
  • Delivering multiple architecture projects with measurable results.
  • Understanding emerging trends (integrations, governance, data management, etc.).
  • Certifications such as TOGAF or SABSA - asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience - asset.
  • Completion of at least one formal project management course - asset.
