Job summary

Bartle & Gibson has opened a brand new Salmon Arm branch and seeks a Counter Sales teammate. You will deliver exceptional service at the counter and over the phone, process orders, and source materials to support a busy team.

We value relationship building, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Hours are Tue–Fri 6:30am–3:30pm and Sat 9am–1pm, with benefits and team incentives.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing are preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing industry or plumbing products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service at counter and over the phone.
• Respond to inquiries, process orders, and source materials.
• Process orders in the system and manage returns as needed.
• Maintain clean counter and sales area; merchandise products.
• Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.

Job description

Bartle & Gibson has just opened a brand new branch in Salmon Arm! This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected plumbing, heating, and electrical company and be part of a new team. We are currently in search of a team member to conduct Plumbing Counter Sales. The hours for this role are Tuesday to Friday from 6:30a.m to 3:30p.m and Saturday from 9:00a.m to 1:00p.m.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offering exceptional customer service at our counter and over the phone
• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Processing orders in the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when currently not in stock
• Consistent training and understanding of current products
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Handling returns as required
• Keeping counter and sales area clean
• Merchandising and showcasing product
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Ability to develop long-term relationships and generate referrals from your customers
• Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Time management & multitasking skills to serve several customers at the same time
• Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environment

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing is preferred
• Knowledge of the Plumbing industry or a background in plumbing products is preferred
