Job summary

Bartle & Gibson in Edmonton, AB is seeking an enthusiastic counter sales professional to assist customers, process orders, and identify up‑selling opportunities. You will build rapport, develop long-term relationships, and provide product information and quotes to support a smooth sales cycle.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of sales experience, knowledge of plumbing or electrical products, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years sales experience (counter/inside/outside) required.
• Post-secondary courses in plumbing or electrical are an asset.
• Knowledge of plumbing/electrical products and ability to negotiate with purchasers.

Responsibilities

• Responding to inquiries and processing incoming calls and orders
• Contacting current customers and identifying new products and up-selling
• Entering orders into the system
• Sourcing materials for customers when not in stock
• Maintaining knowledge base on current products and learning about new products
• Providing product information, pricing quotations, and follow-up on quotes
• Developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Ensuring customers are satisfied with order taking, product, pricing, deliveries, and overall service
• Supporting Counter Sales and handling returns as required
• Working closely with others to ensure customer needs are met
• Other duties as required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of two years sales experience (counter sales, inside sales or outside sales)required
• Post-Secondary courses in Plumbing or Electricalan asset
• Skilled in serving and negotiating with institutional and industrial purchasers, plumbing or electrical contractors, and the public
• Knowledge of the plumbing and/or electrical industry or a background in plumbing and/or productsrequired
