Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice with respect to:
    • (a) advertising and contest related marketing materials across various channels including social media and corporate communications,
    • (b) marketing related procurement contracts including joint campaigns, sponsorships, and vendor services,
    • (c) Visa products and services, and
    • (d) documentation supporting other Visa client relationships.
  • Review of corporate communications and trademark matters.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts and other legally binding documents (NDAs, procurement and other commercial agreements, statements of work, etc.).
  • Provide advice and counsel in the interpretation and enforcement of contracts.
  • Provide legal review of Visa external communications (e.g. press releases, sales materials and other documents).
  • Provide legal support for Visa client forums, including Visa Canada Risk Advisors.
  • Participate in internal review/approval process for product risk assessments and new business initiatives.
  • Support regulatory compliance and Visa’s relationship with the Bank of Canada and Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC).

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with an LLB or JD degree
  • Qualified to practice law in the Province of Ontario
