About the Role

As a CBRE Cost Management Analyst, you will collect, review, and present construction cost data that will assist with the development of multi-disciplined commercial real estate solutions.

This job is part of the Building Consultancy function. They are responsible for specialist building services including surveying, inspections, and planning.

What You’ll Do
  • Produce concept‑level estimates to aid feasibility studies and assist with business cases. Gather a range of information from simple internal benchmarking to detailed market data.
  • Support project managers and leasing teams to estimate costs associated with the lease. Optimize property owner contribution and tenant improvement allowances on behalf of the Client.
  • Level all bid responses, organize data, and generate reports for Sr. management.
  • Reconcile all estimates and change orders.
  • Review all applied costs toward allowances, contingencies, and reserves. Update the cost plan accordingly.
  • Prepare the release of all withholdings and close all funding approvals once complete.
  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
  • Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Impact the quality of own work.
  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Exchange straightforward information, ask questions and checks for understanding.
  • Perform benchmarking exercises to update the cost database with accurate, region‑specific costing data.

“The successful candidate will be required to attain and maintain a valid and active RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance (ERSC). Please note, a condition for attaining an Enhanced Reliability Security (ERS) clearance includes the condition that applicants must have lived in Canada a minimum of five years to apply for ERS.”

What You’ll Need
  • Educational Diploma or Degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Technology/Architecture or equivalent experience in Construction Estimating or Budgeting.
  • Minimum 5-7 Years experience in developing construction or project budgets, and analysis of cost breakdowns.
  • Member of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS) or RICS. PQS designation would be an asset.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial related calculations.

The salary range being offered for the Cost Management Analyst is between $85,000 annually and $90,000 annually.
