Overview

Our client in Toronto, ON is actively looking for a Cost Analyst to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a key role in costing analysis, internal controls, and financial reporting in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create item master and affiliated records for new molded and printed inventory items
  • Develop routings to allocate labour and overhead costs to inventory items
  • Ensure purchased items are costed accurately
  • Revalue actual inventory costs monthly based on resin pricing
  • Maintain records of PCNs for changes in tool master, routings, and inventory items
  • Prepare weekly reporting of Flash results and customer volumes, including labour and overhead spending with managers / supervisors
  • Participate in month-end financial close within agreed timelines for inventory / cost issues
  • Support year-end audit processes
  • Analyze material variances, freight, and pallet costs monthly
  • Assist with financial budget preparation for the Toronto facility
  • Administer bills of material, routings, and costed BOMs
  • Administer daily cycle count adjustments
  • Assist and later lead the annual physical inventory, including planning, execution, and variance analysis for finished goods, raw materials, and WIP
  • Lead, facilitate, or participate in CI projects
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement
Skills & Qualifications
  • University degree in Accounting (CPA designation an asset)
  • 3–5 years of cost analysis experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer skills with intermediate / advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience in an MRP environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing is an asset
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong competencies in customer focus, results orientation, impact & influence, critical information seeking, and business acumen
