Canthook Restaurant and Lodge Banquets room is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Cook (Line Cook / Prep Cook) to join our team.

Located in the beautiful Calabogie Mountain, our year-round resort is recognized for it's amazing views, extraordinary food and incomparable service.

Job Summary:

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with recipes and health and safety standards. You will work closely with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the quality and presentation of dishes before they reach the customer.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the workstation and kitchen.
  • Follow food safety regulations and proper handling of food.
  • Assist with inventory control and restocking ingredients as needed.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Communicate with the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager regarding any issues or improvements.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures as required.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
