We are looking to hire a HYBRID CONTROLLER (CPA) either Full-time or Part-time, for our Edmonton, AB client.

Our client is a diversified organization with operations spanning construction and rental real estate, managing multiple active entities. With steady growth and a focus on operational excellence, they require a hands-on finance leader to bring consistency, transparency, and strategic oversight to their financial management practices.

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Controller to manage the day-to-day accounting and finance operations across eight corporations in construction and rental real estate. The Controller will ensure accurate reporting, consolidate financials, maintain strong internal controls, and deliver timely data for leadership and external accountants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead bookkeeping team and oversee clean monthly close across all entities
  • Consolidate financial statements for construction and rental corporations
  • Manage AP / AR, intercompany transactions, and cash flow
  • Implement a PO system and tracking spreadsheets
  • Coordinate year-end filings and audits with external accountants
  • Develop dashboards for project costing, unit profitability, and cash flow forecasting
  • Support financing draws, including construction loans, LOC, and CMHC submissions
Qualifications / Profile
  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Construction and / or Real Estate background a definite asset
  • CPA designation is an asset but not required
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multi-entity complexity
  • QuickBooks experience
