Overview

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Contract Manager to support our clients major project portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring contract strategies are executed effectively, risks are managed proactively, and project teams are supported with expert commercial guidance. You'll step into a senior role, shaping contract processes while mentoring others and collaborating across functions to keep large-scale operations on track.

Responsibilities
  • Lead full contract lifecycle management, from RFP development through to closeout
  • Develop and implement contract strategies and risk mitigation plans in partnership with leadership
  • Maintain and oversee contract risk, driving awareness and action on key risks
  • Handle post-award contract administration including change management, dispute resolution, and invoice review
  • Guide and mentor a Contracts Specialist, ensuring quality and consistency across all contract activities
  • Ensure all contract activities align with legal, commercial, and corporate policies
  • Collaborate closely with legal, risk, trade compliance, and shared services teams
  • Advise Project Managers on contracting strategies, terms, and risk exposure
  • Create and maintain contract templates, tools, and governance documentation for the project group
  • Provide reporting and insights to management as needed
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in contracts or procurement roles, ideally in large capital projects or mining
  • Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation, and commercial terms
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end contracting processes
  • Experience leading or mentoring team members
  • Skilled at building relationships across departments and with external stakeholders
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Familiarity with risk registers and contract governance processes
Remuneration

$80-$90/hr based on experience. Remote options available from western Canada. Work hours follow PST time zone.
