Contract Field Operator – Overview

The Field Operator will be primarily responsible for day-to-day activities in relations to production, operating costs and maintaining the field to Canlin’s Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards in a cost-effective manner.

Field liaison with other operational departments, including but not limited to, health and safety, auditors, drilling, completions, lease construction, facilities construction, environmental, land and other stakeholders such as AER, OCG, producers, processors and landowners will be required.

This position is based out of the Redcliff, Alberta office.

Note: 6-month contract role

Contract Field Operator – The Role
  • Assist the production coordinator in the safe and reliable operation of the area’s wells and facilities
  • Ensure equipment, facilities and wells are maintained to meet throughput requirements
  • Support a culture of accountability
  • Investigate incidents and deliver subsequent reports
  • Conduct inspections or audits, including ISO, insurance, regulatory, internal, health and safety and recommend follow-up actions
  • Manage contractors
  • Implement and manage operational controls including policies and procedures
  • Adhere to measurement compliance (Enhanced Production Audit Program (EPAP), field data capture, fluid analysis requirements)
  • Assisting facilities engineering or joint venture with 3rd party tie-in requests
  • Demonstrate and uphold all of C E&P’s rules, guidelines, policies and procedures applicable to the operation of company assets
Contract Field Operator – The Person
  • Previous intermediate level of experience as a production operator
  • High school diploma
  • Able to work a shift rotation and be on call
  • Proven ability to lead others and high safety standards
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Certification in H2S alive, First Aid, WHIMIS, TDG
  • Excellent understanding of upstream operations, equipment and terminology
  • Ability to shift priorities and focus to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Related I&E or Mechanical experience would be an asset
