Commercial Manager

On behalf of our client, TEEMA is seeking a Commercial Manager related to transportation and logistics. Under the direction of the BD & Commercial Director and the guidance of the President, the Commercial Manager will lead the development and execution of commercial strategies, client engagement, and business growth initiatives across Canada. This strategic and hands‑on leader will guide marketing efforts, vendor relationships, and event planning, while ensuring compliance and excellence in all commercial activities.

To apply you must have ALL of the following minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, supply chain/logistics, or a related commercial marine discipline with at least 4 years’ experience in a similar industry.>
  • Or 5–10 years of progressive experience in commercial, business development, logistics, or supply chain leadership, ideally within maritime or port operations.
  • Senior knowledge of sales techniques, negotiation, financial modeling, and commercial contract arrangements.
  • Familiarity with the Canada Shipping Act and/or similar international shipping industry regulations.
  • International commercial experience and strong network within the maritime/logistics domain.
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office, AI, and other business analytics tools.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is an asset.
  • Ability to travel frequently outside North America.
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
  • Must have a valid BC Driver’s License.
Job functions for this role will be:
  • Plan, direct, and negotiate commercial and business development strategies for direct and indirect clients to achieve the company’s strategic growth objectives locally and globally.
  • Guide, organize, and guarantee commercial and marketing activities across all relevant segments, including vendor sourcing and event planning to strengthen customer engagement and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service.
  • Program, structure, and provide business plans, budgets, quarterly reviews, forecasts, and KPIs to support objective decision‑making and financial discipline.
  • Conduct and ensure key account coordination and fulfillment of commercial agreements to enhance client loyalty, satisfaction, and long‑term partnerships.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and steer market trends, client feedback, and industry changes to identify opportunities and risks and guide proactive negotiation strategies.
  • Direct and guarantee commercial excellence initiatives and knowledge sharing across the company to foster continuous improvement and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Watch over and maintain compliance and ethical standards in all business activities to uphold corporate integrity and regulatory adherence.
  • React to change productively to undertake other tasks and responsibilities as assigned and look after the company’s best interest. This list of functional duties is not exhaustive.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to 160,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience, skills, location, and internal equity. This range may include performance‑based incentives and other variable components. The final offer will be presented as part of a comprehensive total compensation package, and at the company’s discretion.
