Class 1 Local Delivery Driver

Employer: Gordon Food Service (GFS)

Terms:

  • Job Location:
  • Based at 10201A 100 Ave, Clairmont AB T8X 0M6
  • Travel to various locations in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas
  • Truck provided
  • Local routes (guaranteed home every day)
  • May occasionally be required to work in the Edmonton area if needed
    • Distribution centre located at 13511 163 St NW Edmonton AB T5V 0B5
    • Travel and living-out expenses covered, per company policy
  • Salary:
    • $34.13 (starting) to $38.75/hour; Salary increases per company policy, after 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month employment, and annual reviews.

Duties:

  • Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
  • Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 – 1000 cases/shift)
  • Operating straight trucks and tractor trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes
  • Maneuvering and backing up heavy trucks or trailers at various delivery sites, including in narrow streets, back alleys, etc.
  • Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting
  • Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices
  • Following health and safety and safe work procedures
