About the role

The Long-Haul Trucking Claims team is looking for a Long Haul Trucking Claims Adjuster (APD) to join them on a Full-Time Basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for investigating both routine and complex physical damage and cargo claims, ensuring prompt and fair settlements.

What you’ll do here

• Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable
• Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, brokers, claimants, lawyers and other insurers to resolve claims
• Investigate and settle Cargo and environmental losses
• Manage losses throughout Canada and US
• Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet any or all legislative requirements
• Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure
• Possibly required to support with Intact Public Entities & Entertainment Auto claims

What you bring to the table

• University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
• Completed or are working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
• A minimum of 2 years experience adjusting commercial auto claims, Long Haul Trucking an asset
• Ability to handle or oversee moderate to complex claims
• Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of the provincial legislation governing auto insurance
• Atlantic Provincial Licenses an asset, must be willing to secure Atlantic provincial licenses
