About the role
The Long-Haul Trucking Claims team is looking for a Long Haul Trucking Claims Adjuster (APD) to join them on a Full-Time Basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for investigating both routine and complex physical damage and cargo claims, ensuring prompt and fair settlements.
What you’ll do here
- Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and assess entitlements which are fair and equitable
- Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with the customer, brokers, claimants, lawyers and other insurers to resolve claims
- Investigate and settle Cargo and environmental losses
- Manage losses throughout Canada and US
- Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet any or all legislative requirements
- Collaborate with our Bodily Injury team on significant losses to mitigate exposure
- Possibly required to support with Intact Public Entities & Entertainment Auto claims
What you bring to the table
- University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
- Completed or are working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
- A minimum of 2 years experience adjusting commercial auto claims, Long Haul Trucking an asset
- Ability to handle or oversee moderate to complex claims
- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of the provincial legislation governing auto insurance
- Atlantic Provincial Licenses an asset, must be willing to secure Atlantic provincial licenses
