The Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Centre for Justice and Human Services is seeking applicants to create an inventory/pool of casual Instructional Assistants.
The casual CJHS Instructional Assistant has a complex and vital role within multiple programs in the Centre for Justice and Human Services, including Child and Youth Care, Conservation Enforcement, Criminal Justice and Police Cadet training. The main objective of this position is to perform as an actor and assist in the facilitation of leading‑edge simulation and scenario‑based experiential learning for the training and assessment of students. The position reports to the Associate Dean.
The Instructional Assistant performs as an actor and assists in the facilitation of leading‑edge simulation and scenario‑based experiential learning for the training and assessment of students. This involves participating in simulation and scenario‑based exercises, memorizing scenario scripts, as well as discussing edits or adaptations during simulated learning scenarios.
Working with instructors and coordinators, the Instructional Assistant will provide support, feedback and encouragement to students during practice time and assessment scenarios. The Instructional Assistant will also assist in the evaluation of students’ performance through the provision of feedback and participation in exercise debriefing.
The Instructional Assistant requires excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills along with the ability to be self‑motivated and flexible.
AUPE Class Level 8 Step 1 $25.69/hr
