We are looking to add 3 enthusiastic Civil Engineering Technology Students from a Civil Engineering Technology or ARET program, for a 4- or 8-month co-op starting in May 2026!

About the Opportunity

Working alongside seasoned engineers, technologists, and recent graduates alike, you may be engaged in projects related to general civil infrastructure design and production, land development, storm systems, waterworks, roadways, quantity estimates, and field support. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and communities, such as municipal government, provincial government, Indigenous communities, and land development clients.

  • Drafting detailed engineering drawings based on verbal instruction and/or hand sketches.
  • Assisting in the compilation of specifications, drawings, and details for tender documents.
  • Supporting water resources initiatives such as stormwater management and watershed planning with a focus on climate resilience.
  • Developing your skills and understanding related to utilizing Civil3D, AutoCAD, and Excel.
  • Communicating effectively with team members, regulatory bodies, clients, and contractors.
  • Preparing quantity estimates and costs to complete construction.
  • Assisting with construction inspection, construction surveys, and other field services.

As a student, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, although depending on the location, the projects, practice areas, and clients may differ. The following projects and skills are not an exhaustive list and may fluctuate based on capacity and interest.

Kamloops, BC

In our Kamloops branch, you can expect to be involved in civil design projects, such as:

  • Land development projects for subdivisions and private site development, and Municipal infrastructure projects. Projects include deep utility design for storm systems, water main and gravity sewer systems, general site grading, and asbuilt drawing submission sets.

This will allow you to develop your skills and understanding related to:

  • Utilizing software (such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Infraworks, Bluebeam), verbal and written communication, quantity estimates, creating detailed engineering drawings, and opportunities for field visits.
Kelowna, BC (Municipal Design)

In our Kelowna branch, you can expect to be involved in municipal design projects, such as:

  • Land development, municipal infrastructure projects, deep utility design for storm systems, water main and gravity sewer systems, and general site grading.

This will allow you to develop your skills and understanding related to:

  • Utilizing software (such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Infraworks, Bluebeam), verbal and written communication, quantity estimates, creating detailed engineering drawings, and opportunities for field visits.
Kelowna, BC (Transportation Design)

In our Kelowna branch, you can expect to be involved in transportation design projects, such as:

  • Highway and urban roadways, roadside facilities, utility design, active transportation, grading, and construction inspection.

This will allow you to develop your skills and understanding related to:

  • Utilizing software (such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Excel, Infraworks), verbal and written communication, quantity estimates, design production of detailed engineering drawings, and fieldwork.
About You

This position is ideal for students currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technology program or equivalent. Related experience is beneficial but not required.
