Job description

Child Support Worker / Respite Worker – Edmonton, Alberta

If you are passionate about caregiving and dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children, we encourage you to apply for the role of Child Support Worker . This position also involves responsibilities as a Respite Worker and Community Support Worker . The role includes providing community support by driving children to activities such as visits to parks, recreation centers, and other community spaces.

Job Type : Part-time

Expected hours : 15-30 hours / week

Schedule :

  • Monday and Friday / Day / Evening as needed on weekends
  • Time : 3-6 pm
  • Weekends as needed and on PD Days
  • Driving is mandatory

Pay : $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Education (Mandatory, from reputable colleges, certification required) :

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • Personal Support Worker certification

Experience :

  • Supportive care : 1-2 years (mandatory)
  • Experience working with Spectrum disorders
  • Experience supporting children with Autism
  • Strong communication and interaction skills
  • Experience as a mental health worker

Language :

Proficiency in English

Licenses / Certifications :

  • First Aid Certification (required)
  • NVCI / MANDT (preferred)
  • Police Clearance Check (less than 6 months old, Edmonton Police check or RCMP only)
  • Child intervention check (mandatory)
  • Reliable vehicle preferred; Driver’s Abstract required

Vehicle and License :

  • Class 5 Driver’s License (required)
  • Driver’s Abstract for the last 2 years
  • Vehicle must be in the employee’s name or lease documentation provided
  • Liability insurance copy (2 million coverage) required

Work Location :

  • In person in Edmonton, Beaumont, and Leduc areas
