A community mental health service provider in Ontario is seeking a Child and Family Clinician to support children and families with mental health challenges. In this full-time role, you will develop treatment plans, conduct assessments, and provide therapy in various settings. The position offers a salary of $74,323 per annum and is unionized, with full benefits and flexible hours.
As the need for mental health services grows, Child Development Institute (CDI) continues to be the steadfast support and leading provider of specialized mental health services for children and youth aged 0-18 and their families. All of our services are guided by a strength-based approach that incorporates the family and the community into the journey of supporting children and youth.
Trusted with the mental well-being of our community's most sensitive members, infants and children, all of our programming is backed by rigorous research. Science is the backbone which informs our work as we evolve alongside the needs of our community.
We are committed to providing services that are respectful of racial, cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic diversity, as well as sexual orientation, age, gender and family differences. All our services are delivered by a deeply caring and compassionate team that guides children, youth and families along a mental health journey in a safe, respectful and welcoming space.
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, we are looking for a Child and Family Clinician to provide in-person, on-site therapeutic support to children, youth, and their families. You will be present one-on-one at school, in the community, and at the family home, as well as at CDI locations for group sessions. As part of our clinical leadership and children’s mental health treatment team, you will collaborate to develop treatment plans in a multidisciplinary context.
Our family community counselling program welcomes youth up to 18 years old coming from other programs in the agency and externally referred youth experiencing depression, anxiety, attachment or other diagnoses. In addition, we support children and youth who are part of our sexual abuse treatment program. We also co-facilitate the Circle Security Program, which focuses on building attachment between parents and their infants and children.
This is an onsite role working five days per week based out of our Euclid head office.
Profound purpose. You want to play a critical role in developing a treatment plan. You want to be the steady hand and the calming presence, someone who is a champion for the well‑being of clients and can bring forward their perspectives, introduce clarity, observe behaviour and identify interventions.
Growth as a Child and Family Clinician and as a compassionate human. You want to expand your knowledge, skills, and impact following our evidence‑based practices and proven processes in CBT and other methodologies. You will immediately receive training in the Circle Security Program. In addition, you will be part of in‑house professional development opportunities, guided coaching and mentoring. Through cross‑functional collaboration and as a result of our broad scope of services, you will gain insights through interactions with Child and Youth Workers, Social Workers and Psychologists. You will support practicum students if capacity allows.
Therapeutic interventions may be delivered to individuals, groups and families. You are willing and able to occasionally travel to other CDI sites, community locations and family homes. You can work flexible hours to meet client needs.
The work‑life balance and benefits. You will be a unionized, full‑time staff member with flexible hours and full benefits.
$74,323 per annum based on a 35 hour work week. This is a permanent position under CUPE.
If you're excited about this role but your experience aligns differently with every requirement, we encourage you to apply. While specific qualifications are strictly required, others can be based on various experiences, backgrounds, and knowledge. We can't promise an interview, but we will consider your whole application.
