Overview

Insight Global is seeking a skilled Application Support / Developer specializing in Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS). The successful candidate will provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and develop enhancements for CRIMS, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for front- and middle-office teams in asset management, private banking, and wealth management. This role is hybrid 2x per week in Toronto and will start as a 6 month contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Charles River IMS.
  • Develop and implement system enhancements, integrations, and customizations.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Maintain and optimize data interfaces and feeds (e.g., Bloomberg DL, Snowflake).
  • Support upgrades, testing, and documentation of CRIMS.
  • Drive continuous improvement in application reliability and user experience.

Qualifications
  • 6-10+ years of experience in financial services, investment management, or capital markets technology, with a focus on application support and development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/MS in Finance, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Recent hands-on experience supporting and/or developing within Charles River IMS (CRIMS), including implementations and upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of global asset classes, trade life cycles, and investment products.
  • Experience with EMS, OMS, compliance, accounting, and performance reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL, scripting (Python or similar), and integration tools (e.g., Bloomberg DL, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with other investment management platforms (e.g., Blackrock Aladdin, Bloomberg PORT, RIMES, FactSet, Markit EDM, State Street Alpha, Axioma, BARRA).
  • Knowledge of mutual funds, ETFs, structured products, and derivatives.
  • Exposure to cloud-based data lake technologies (e.g., Snowflake).
  • Advanced reporting and visualization skills (Power BI, SSIS/SSRS, MS Visio).
  • Experience developing user documentation and training materials.
