Job summary

A community college in British Columbia is seeking a Disability Career Coach to represent their services at the Langley WorkBC Centre.   • Assist Clients with individualized action plans.
  • Provide job search and career planning assistance.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and monitor needs.
  • Manage client referrals and engagement reporting.
  • Meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Complete reports as required.
Job description

Representing Douglas College at the Langley WorkBC Centre, the Disability Career Coach plays a dynamic role working with our specialized populations and supporting the daily operations of the Centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY DUTIES
  • Conduct Client Needs Assessments to determine the appropriate WorkBC services and supports;
  • Conduct a thorough Disability Related Needs Assessment (DRENA);
  • Assess and refer to specialized assessments as part of a client Action Plan (including medical assessment reports, Psychological and Vocational, Learning Disability, Neuropsychological, and Functional Capacity);
  • Interpret results of the specialized assessments and recommend next steps. This may include support for long term interventions or external referrals to appropriate community agencies;
  • Work with Client’s natural support network and other community service providers, as needed;
  • Assist Clients with the development and updating of individualized action plans;
  • Provide clients with job search and career planning assistance;
  • Provide ongoing Client support including all documentation around Client’s progress, notes, updates and outcomes using ICM database;
  • Maintain regular contact with clients throughout program participation and monitor need for supports and services;
  • Manage and respond to formal client referrals and client engagement reporting using ICM Service Request guide;
  • Meet or exceed performance targets such as referrals to Customized Employment Program, Skills Training and Client Outcomes;
  • Complete reports as required.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
  • Provide outreach for case managed services as needed;
  • Participate in committees with the mandate of supporting Clients with Disabilities;
  • Represent the Langley WorkBC Centre through participation in community events, such as career fairs, community days, and other special events.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
  • Work to Training Group’s Quality Management System, ISO9001:2015 standard.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Participate in regular team meetings, strategic planning and program review sessions as scheduled;
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required.
