Position Title: Business Process Analyst Consultant
Reports To: AVP, Individual Portfolio and Operational Enablement Department: Individual Project Management Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Business Analyst Consultant plays a strategic role in bridging Business and IT, leading complex initiatives that span technology, process engineering, and stakeholder engagement. What you will be doing:
  • Lead process redesign strategy and implementation
  • Design and optimize processes with a client-first lens, ensuring seamless experiences across quoting, onboarding, servicing, and claims.
  • Analyze insurance-specific KPIs (e.g., TAT, claims turnaround, not in good order) to inform process improvements.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify trends, root causes, and performance gaps across operational workflows.
  • Trace data paths across systems and identify transformation points
  • Align processes with privacy, audit, and insurance regulations
  • Sole or lead BA on projects
  • Define scope, manage issues, and lead requirements analysis
  • Create business cases and feasibility studies
  • Document functional, non-functional, and user story requirements
  • Support development, QA, and UAT phases
  • Ensure post-implementation success and risk mitigation
  • Manage scope, schedule, reporting, and escalation for non-IT projects
What you will bring:
  • 10+ years as Lead BA or Process Analyst in financial services or insurance
  • Expert in process redesign and performance optimization with Six Sigma Certification: Green or Black Belt
  • Demonstrated ability to translate feedback into actionable process enhancements.
  • Strong data storytelling skills—able to translate complex findings into clear business insights
  • Proven success in business analysis tools, techniques, and documentation
  • Skilled in solution assessment and validation
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to work at both strategic and detailed levels
  • Business Analyst Certification or equivalent experience
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Superior documentation and presentation capabilities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across advisors, clients, vendors
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration
  • Process mapping tools experience: Visio, Miro, Lucidchart, Draw.io
