Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst plays a pivotal role in enabling data‐driven decision‑making by transforming complex data into actionable insights that support strategic, operational, and digital transformation initiatives. This role requires deep technical expertise in data management, SQL development, Power BI, Azure, and advanced analytics. Analysts work closely with business units to design end‑to‑end BI solutions, support enterprise reporting modernization, and ensure alignment with security standards and compliance requirements such as PIPEDA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate and present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Guide business units through the full BI solution lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
  • Design and implement technology solutions aligned with digital transformation goals.
  • Apply data architectural methodologies to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain reporting assets and SQL scripts based on evolving requirements.
  • Develop and publish Power BI dashboards using Power Query, DAX, and BI best practices.
  • Support reporting integration and visualization of data from legacy and on‑prem systems.
  • Work with cloud environments such as Power BI Service, Microsoft Azure, and Databricks.
  • Utilize knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and Delta format to model and manage large datasets.
  • Ensure compliance with industry security standards and PIPEDA.
  • Participate in enterprise BI design, governance, and content/data management programs.
Required Experience
  • Expertise in SQL development and optimization.
  • Extensive experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and BI reporting environments.
  • Cloud proficiency with Power BI Service, Azure, and Databricks.
  • Understanding of Lakehouse architecture and Delta format.
  • Experience integrating and visualizing data from legacy/on‑prem systems into modern BI solutions.
  • Knowledge of content management, data governance, and analytical data models (including star schema).
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security standards, and PIPEDA compliance.
Nice‑to‑Have Experience
  • Experience providing consulting‑style guidance to business units.
  • Background supporting enterprise‑level digital transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to complex reporting changes and technical requirement analysis.
