Job Description
About the role Create business requirements and systems requirements documentation for Virgin specific applications and systems both on the infrastructure and software/application side. Work closely with the Bell teams to ensure synergy with the project requirements overall. Support the PM in the project communication effort and maintain a close and efficient relationship with both the delivery and business teams.
Overview
Role duties include creating business and systems requirements documentation according to Virgin PMO standards, supporting project communication, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage communication with the business and delivery team during the business and systems requirements definition process. Create the business and systems requirements documentation according to Virgin PMO standards published on the internal PMO site.
- Document user and systems interaction and present clearly the current mode of operation versus the desired mode of operation for the project objectives.
- Understand the project objective and underlying technical platform to clearly identify in-scope and out-of-scope requirements.
- Track requirements scope, actively identifying and documenting changes.
- Consult with the technical team to accurately identify the systems requirements; act as a mediator between the technical and business teams to improve communication and ensure a clear common understanding of the requirements and the systems solution.
- Gain a good understanding of the applied project management methodology to support the project manager in managing project communication, risk, and change requests.
- Work with the project team to define the test approach, test scope, and test data; review test scope/cases and advise on the comprehensiveness of the test scope as it pertains to in-scope requirements.
- Support scope delivery verification in test and production environments.
- Collaborate with the PM to share lessons learned and best practices across teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders. Organize meetings to review business and systems requirements and create documents/presentations for stakeholders. Follow up on requirements sign-off.
Critical Qualifications/Competencies
- University Degree or at least five (5) years of business analysis experience with a track record in large, complex IT projects, working with virtual teams across multiple geographic locations.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience documenting complex project requirements involving systems integration and/or application deployment.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; experience preparing and delivering presentations.
- Exemplary customer service skills; strong desire to help internal and external users.
- Strong positive, can-do attitude.
- Prefers to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a closely-knit, high-performance team.
- Desire to learn and become familiar with new technologies; ability to assimilate knowledge quickly and effectively.
- BA Certification is preferred, but experience demonstrating active pursuit will be considered.
- Strong tolerance to ambiguity and change.
Working Conditions
- Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple assignments.
- Availability to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines; available to participate in deployment activities as needed.
