Overview

We’ve opened a role in our Ottawa office for a talented, entrepreneurial Bridge Engineer to work alongside exceptional people in JLR’s Structural group.

Your Role as a Bridge Engineer

Let’s discuss how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. As a Bridge Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the structural design of bridge projects, including replacements, condition assessments of existing bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, and developing rehabilitation plans to extend infrastructure lifespan.
  • Growing an emerging market at JLR by leading proposal development, mentoring team members, and contributing to business planning.
  • Analyzing and designing structural systems using design software, including seismic criteria and formal design packages.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technologists, and support staff to carry out studies, develop designs, and support construction phases.
  • Traveling between JLR offices and project sites across Ontario to meet project needs.

Qualifications and Experience
  • At least five years of experience with CHBDC, MTO documents, OSIM, Structural Manual, OPSS, OPSD, Roadside Design Manual, roadway design, hydraulic review, environmental studies, and MCEA process.
