Overview

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage full-cycle accounting and provide administrative support in a dynamic retail environment. This role requires you to be highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working with both standard accounting tools and our custom in-house software.

Responsibilities
  • Accounting & Bookkeeping: Manage full-cycle accounting, including general ledger entries, trial balances, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Process accounts payable: match purchases, post invoices, and process payments via EFT, credit card, and cheque.
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Perform subsystem reconciliations to the general ledger (Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, A / P, A / R).
  • Process payroll using Payworks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Prepare and file GST, PST, WCB, and BC Health Tax returns.
  • Maintain retail store bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online (note: system is customized, not standard QuickBooks setup).
  • Administrative Support: Assist the Accounts Receivable Clerk as needed.
  • Provide backup for order processing, including answering phones and entering orders.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping (CPA designation not required).
  • Comfortable using custom in-house software (IBM iSeries / AS400).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable with computers and willing to work within established systems.
  • Proven track record of accuracy, particularly in payroll and data entry.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada.
