Student Trainer Program

The Bobcats Student Trainer Program provides students with the opportunity to experience the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Students gain experiential learning under the mentorship of a Certified Athletic Therapist.

Student Trainers will:
  • Assist with athlete injury prevention and rehabilitation in the Sports Medicine Clinic.
  • Be assigned to a Bobcats team for a season and will cover practices and games at home and away.
  • Acquire valuable experience to future career as a therapist, educator, coach or other professions.
Student Trainer Program Admission Requirements:
  • Valid CPR (by September 2026)
  • Valid First Aid Certificate (by September 2026)
Preferred, but not required, experience:
  • Experience as a trainer in high school or college
  • Manitoba Athletic Therapists Association – Sports First Aider
  • Canadian Hockey Safety Program
  • Aquatics and other awards
