About the role

Join the Business Solutions Engineering team, in the Bilingual Software Developer (Fullstack) position, where we are developing the next generation of software applications to enable CMHC to achieve its strategy. Your skills and passion for collaborative application development, programming, user‑centric design and software reliability will contribute to the development and maintenance of CMHC’s business platforms and other applications to propel CMHC forward efficiently and securely.

What you’ll do
  • Complete complex application development projects by following the SDLC, from business requirements to deployment and support in production.
  • Create or update the technical design for new or existing computer systems including hosting, network, databases, processes, error handling, inputs, outputs, reports and interfaces to other systems or processes.
  • Design logically sound, readily maintained program structures based on program specifications.
  • Author technical specification documents and diagrams for CMHC’s platforms and custom developed applications.
  • Document the current and proposed business processes.
  • Develop logical and physical system models incorporating the business processes and prepares clear, concise, and well‑written analysis documents or program specifications.
What you should have
  • A college diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, or any other related field.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience including programming, testing, and implementing business applications.
  • The ability to develop and debug applications based on CMHC’s technology platforms (see below). This includes following standards, best practices and reference designs.
  • A familiarity with modern software development life cycle and agile practices.
  • Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts.
  • Thrive for automation and early feedback. And ability to collaborate with team members.
  • An adaptability and ability to manage change in business needs, processes, or technologies.
Technologies
  • NodeJS, ReactJS, Typescript, SQL, C#.
  • Source code management and DevOps practices with Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) and testing tools: Jest-Axe, WAVE, NVDA is an asset.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools to collaborate with QA: Jest, Playwright, JMeter, Postman, Tosca is an asset.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure (preferred), AWS, GCP) Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Application Insights, Event Grid, Azure Kubernetes, Azure AI Search, Azure Event Hub and API Management.
