Job Overview

Position Schedule: Part-Time

Enterprise Learning is responsible for building new capabilities critical to our firm's strategy at speed and scale, ensuring our home-office associates and branch team members are reskilled and upskilled to deliver industry-leading comprehensive planning and advice. Canada Learning operates as a scrum/value team that serves Canadian specific priorities and Canadian specific enduring programs.

The Learning Experience Designer is responsible for the design, development, French translation and delivery of multi-modal high-performance learning experiences that build learner capabilities, drive behavior change, and result in needed performance results. In this role, you will enable a culture of continuous learning through human-centered learning and performance design. Fluency in both French and English is required as all materials must be produced in both languages and leaders in this area are English Speaking. This job will likely be responsible for translating and/or conducting the quality assurance on the translation of our learning materials. Therefore, exceptional writing and translation skills are required for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with learning and development colleagues, end-users, stakeholders, and leaders to design, develop, translate into French and deliver impactful learning and development solutions that achieve business outcomes.
  • Build learner capabilities and drive behavioral change using a learner-centered creative design and delivery process that involves conducting learner research, co-creating with end-users, prototyping learning experiences that achieve performance outcomes, and ensuring first-time quality at speed and scale in both French and English.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging, multi-modal learning experiences that lead to learner adoption through a focus on moments that matter applications and activities that enable performance-based outcomes.
  • Leverage learning insights and measurement reports to monitor, maintain, and optimize learning experiences.
  • Serve as a member of dynamic, autonomous, matrixed teams responsible for the end-to-end implementation of projects in a fast-paced, challenging environment with multiple, competing priorities
  • Act as a project leader or manager for the team in the French translation of all critical learning, leveraging planning practices to deliver learning at speed and scale.
  • Occasionally take on Scrum Master responsibilities, supporting and enabling the team to stay focused and foster an environment for relentless improvement and continuous learning while utilizing a Lean-Agile mindset.
  • Effectively facilitate the delivery of learning experiences in French and English, including in-person and virtual development sessions, workshops, cohorts, and social forums.
  • Leverage empathy to build rapport and foster engagement in a dynamic learning environment.
  • Confidently lead and facilitate design, development, and validation sessions to create the conditions for iterative learner-centered design, resulting in first-time quality at scale
  • Stay current on research and practices in Learning & Development, applying appropriate applications/processes to optimize learning experiences
Skills / Requirements
  • 2+ years of facilitation experience, guiding professional development sessions, onboarding new employees, and / or
  • 2+ years of proven experience designing, developing, and curating learning and performance experiences that achieve business objectives
  • 2+ years of proven experience translating learning materials into French, preferably using translation tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Articulate Storyline and Rise, Vyond, Audacity, and Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience using Design Thinking and User Experience Research principles and methodologies to develop learning and performance designs.
  • Applied understanding of learning sciences and instructional design to design learning experiences that achieve expected outcomes.
  • Applied knowledge of modern tools and methodologies to create multi-global learning and performance solutions.
  • Proven facilitation, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of responsibilities and expectations of field roles within the company (e.g. financial advisors, branch team support members).
  • Bilingualism required.
  • Problem solving skills:
  • Ability to identify and solve routine problems based on existing processes, with support from management members.
  • Adequate understanding of the company, its culture and values.
  • Decision Making:
  • Decisions will be precedent-based and overseen by management
  • Decisions will be complex, requiring analysis of multiple data sources and their integration, due to unforeseen implications elsewhere in the business
  • Decisions and recommendations may influence the team's financial commitments
  • Scope of Influence:
  • Scope of work will have a direct impact on team results.
  • Strong influence on the performance and retention of agency teams and head office roles across the business.
  • Role carries high risk: inadequate or inaccurate delivery to various field audiences could undermine the ability of zones and regions to execute their strategies to achieve their retention performance targets
  • Measurable and accountable responsibility for individual performance/behavior changes supported by training, guidance, consultation and/or feedback, which sometimes includes delivering challenging messages
  • Delivery of key messages related to Edward Jones' history, values and culture to financial advisors, agency support roles, agency teams and/or management teams.
  • Supervisory responsibility for agency team learners as they participate in learning experiences.
