We're currently seeking an Estimator for our Calgary location, in Alberta. We offer competitive salaries for Estimators ranging from $50,000-$63,000, depending on experience. The successful candidate will support customer service, initial estimates, and repair plans. Primary duties focus on reducing customer effort and vehicle throughput, with active involvement in quality control, insurance relations, and parts management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations by providing leadership to meet stakeholder objectives safely, effectively, ethically, and positively;
- Support daily production, workflow, and quality control of the shop;
- Use company dashboard to identify and prioritize tasks accurately;
- Participate in daily production meetings;
- Apply insurance-specific policies and procedures expertly;
- Identify and order parts from the management system after completing repair plans;
- Educate customers about claims and repair processes;
- Maintain awareness of production deadlines and update customers accordingly;
- Provide customer service at vehicle drop-off and pick-up, including reviewing replacement and customer vehicles;
- Walk with purpose, demonstrating care for the whole vehicle and all stakeholders;
- Support pre- and post-vehicle diagnostic scanning;
- Check for vehicle recalls while building repair plans;
- Review vehicle history in the Management System;
- Leverage systems and resources proactively to reduce effort, increase touch time, and decrease vehicle days in shop;
- Collaborate with the Shop Manager, Operations team, and others to ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and employment standards;
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and guidelines;
- Contribute to closing all files within 24 hours of vehicle delivery;
- Support company standards in SPARKLE, safety, and security;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1.5 years of progressive industry experience, including sales, customer service, or leadership;
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred; relevant experience considered;
- Experience in a fast-paced, team environment;
- Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification is an asset;
- Proficiency in Mitchell Estimating, Audatex, ALLDATA;
- Knowledge of ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging technologies;
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with leadership;
- Diplomacy, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills;
- Time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment;
- Customer service-oriented interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in Outlook and video conferencing platforms, with willingness to learn new applications;
- Desire and aptitude for learning and development;
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract over the last 3 years;
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada without restrictions.
