Job summary

Dollarama in Canada is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily retail operations, drive customer satisfaction, and help achieve sales goals. This role acts as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is away.

You will lead and coach a team, participate in merchandising, opening/closing duties, and ensure safety and cleanliness. The position offers a path to broader leadership within a fast-paced, value-driven retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of retail experience.
• At least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
• Open availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Store Manager with operations and staff management.
• Helping with merchandising, stocking, and unpacking daily shipments.
• Providing exceptional customer service and resolving escalated issues.
• Training, coaching, and developing employees.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Assigning tasks to the team and ensuring store safety and cleanliness.
• Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Maintaining visual merchandising standards.
• Responsible for hiring and performance management.
