Job summary

Dollarama in Canada is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily retail operations, customer satisfaction, and achieving sales goals. This role acts as Manager on Duty in the Store Manager’s absence and involves supervising staff, merchandising, cash handling, and safety principles.

You will train and coach employees, manage performance, and ensure high standards of service and store presentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience
• 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
• Open availability (day, evening, weekend)
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with operations and staff management
• Support merchandising, stocking, and unpacking shipments
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve escalated issues
• Train, coach, and develop employees
• Perform cash management and opening/closing duties as needed
• Assign tasks and ensure store safety and cleanliness
• Conduct performance evaluations and give feedback
• Ensure adherence to policies and safety standards
• Maintain visual merchandising standards
• Participate in hiring and performance management
