Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union
Bring your experience and EOCP certification as an Assistant Sewer Equipment Operator. You are responsible for the safe driving and operation of a Tandem Axle combination Jet/Vacuum truck along with performing the daily inspection, maintenance and operation of a variety of power tools and sewer equipment. You offer excellent customer service skills and are able to be flexible and adaptable to adjust to the changing situations.
· Operates and maintains specialized sewer cleaning and inspection equipment, including high-pressure flusher/vacuum trucks; rodding equipment, root-cutters and other specialized attachments, a computerized CCTV camera unit and other equipment related to sewer maintenance.
· Enters confined spaces to perform routine maintenance and assessment of systems.
· Cleans and clears pipes, manholes, catch basins, wet wells, etc. Performs minor repairs to the systems.
· Responds to alarms
· Reads and interprets maps, drawings and utility records.
· Responds to enquiries from the public.
· Utilizing customized computer systems, performs data entry, updates mapping and generates reports.

• Environmental Operators Certification – Wastewater Collection Level I

• City of Kelowna Certification (on designated equipment/trucks)
Sitting, driving, walking on hard surfaces or on uneven surfaces, climbing in/out of jet/vac truck, climbing ladders, lifting, pulling up to 60kg, carrying, dirty work (sewage), working in all weather and seasonal conditions, day or night work, working around loud noises, shovelling/digging, Confined space entries, working in traffic and construction sites
