A regional healthcare provider in Alberta is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator. The role involves supporting patient flow and resource allocation while also providing leadership within the nursing staff. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years nursing experience in Acute Care, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality patient care. Competitive pay includes an allowance for Fort McMurray. This is a casual position with varying shifts.
An exciting opportunity awaits at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre for a Registered Nurse interested in expanding into informal leadership. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will support our teams after hours and on weekends with patient flow throughout the facility, resource allocation, and frontline staff support, in collaboration with our teams. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non‑pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in‑depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgement and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health‑care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP).
Minimum 5 years nursing in Acute Care within Alberta Health Services, with demonstrated leadership activities, i.e. Charge Nurse. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. In‑depth knowledge of Meditech. Must possess strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Evidence of continuing education in leadership.
Experience within the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre preferred.
