Job description

As an Assistant Facility Manager, you will provide essential support to the Facility Manager in overseeing critical facility operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. You will maintain adherence to JLL's operational excellence standards and the client's operational requirements, monitor key performance indicators specific to the operational environment, and conduct regular facility inspections to proactively address maintenance needs. This collaborative role involves supporting various operational functions including work order management for specialized equipment, coordination of services, energy efficiency initiatives for large-scale operations, and budget management.

Please note that our client requires that all workers/staff operating at their sites are required to undergo drug testing (including pre-employment, reasonable cause, random and post-incident) to gain and continue to have access to their sites and equipment. What You'll Do
  • Support the Facility Manager in executing facility management needs for the client's assigned operations, maintain client satisfaction with delivery of specialized Facility Management services, and support programs that ensure operational continuity.
  • Meet or exceed site KPIs specific to the operational requirements, monitor SLAs monthly with focus on critical systems uptime, and manage all duties in compliance with Master Services Agreement and the client's operational standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of facilities including production support areas, administrative buildings, and infrastructure systems; address deficiencies promptly to minimize operational impact.
  • Support facility services including meeting preparation for operational briefings, conference room management, food services coordination, parking management for shift workers, badging systems, and visitor management protocols for site access.
  • Support energy management programs tailored to high-consumption operations to maximize efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Implement and maintain EHS management systems compliant with industry standards, enforce all safety policies including the client's safety requirements, and ensure compliance with Alberta regulations, environmental standards, and facility codes.
  • Support facility‑specific cost savings initiatives while maintaining operational integrity, assist in managing operational and capital budgets for the facilities, and provide specialized reporting for operations.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams on specialized equipment and services, coordinate supplier evaluations for harsh weather conditions and operational environments, and manage supplier performance with focus on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
What You Bring (required)
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years in facility management, oil & gas operations, or heavy operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC for extreme climates, electrical distribution, steam/heating systems, water treatment).
  • Knowledge of Alberta OH&S regulations and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse workforce including trades, operations, and management personnel.
  • Ability to work effectively in challenging weather conditions (-40°C to +30°C).
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems.
