Junior Software Developer – Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Software Developer with a strong interest in backend development, cloud technologies, and modern software practices. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to build and maintain APIs, integrate with databases and third‑party systems, and contribute to a scalable, production‑ready platform. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys problem‑solving, learning new technologies, and collaborating within a larger IT team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and automation scripts using Python and/or PowerShell
• Implement and support RESTful APIs, including handling JSON and HTTP request flows
• Assist in building integrations with relational databases and external APIs
• Write SQL queries and contribute to data‑access logic
• Participate in designing data models, service interfaces, and backend architecture
• Troubleshoot issues across backend services, API endpoints, scripting workflows, and database interactions
• Contribute to unit tests, integration tests, and API validation
• Collaborate with QA, product teams, and other developers on feature delivery
• Support improvements to documentation, coding standards, and development processes
• Work within Linux environments and use bash for scripting or automation tasks
• Participate in broader IT initiatives as part of a cross‑functional team

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional software development or IT experience (internships included)
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with PowerShell scripting
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and core HTTP concepts
• Experience working with Linux systems and basic bash usage
• Familiarity with SQL and relational database fundamentals
• Exposure to web applications or general web development concepts
• Experience working on a larger IT or development team
• Comfort handling HTTP requests and API integrations
• Database or API integration experience (e.g., PDM APIs, NetSuite APIs, GitLab APIs)
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving mindset
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work with guidance
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience with ClickUp or similar project‑management tools
• Additional scripting or automation experience
• Broader cloud or serverless technology exposure
