We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Structure Engineer based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.

As a Structure Engineer, you will provide critical mechanical and design expertise to support the development, modification, and certification of our airframe and firefighting equipment. You will see your designs move from the computer screen to the hangar floor, ensuring our fleet can withstand the extreme environments of aerial firefighting.

In this role your duties will include the following:

  • Participate in the design and certification of airframe modifications and create Finite Element models for structural calculations.
  • Participate to damage tolerance analysis
  • Prepare structural reports, test plans, and compliance documents for regulatory authorities, including Transport Canada, FAA, and other relevant bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, FAA, and other regulatory authority such IAB (Interagency Airtanker Board).
  • Collaborate with the production team during airtanker conversions, validating deviations and supporting the maintenance team with structural repair development.
  • Work closely with systems, avionics, and design engineers to ensure integrated aircraft performance.
  • Participate in the innovation process, remaining proactive in proposing changes to improve efficiency and curious to learn new technologies (such as AI) and methodologies.

  • Strong understanding of aircraft structure and mechanical design.
  • Ability to write technical report to support certification process;
  • TCCA delegation in structure and/or damage tolerance is a significant asset.

  • Knowledge of new technologies (AI), and/or aircraft systems/avionics is desirable.

Training/Education:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering;
    0–5 years of experience in aircraft structure engineering (we welcome high-potential juniors or intermediate engineers).
